We have a variety of mechanisms to support Kohala residents committed to Keeping Kohala Kohala for future generations.

Do you want to continue living in your home now? If you have no heirs, or they do not want to live in Kohala, consider KCLT

  • Donate or sell to KCLT with Life Estate now

  • Donate to KCLT in your Will/Estate Plan

  • Donate or Sell a Kama'āina Housing Easement*, but keep the home in the family

*Kamaʻāina Easement is a legal deed restriction that promises you will continue to occupy the home, pass to qualified heirs, and you will sell at an agreed affordable price to a qualified Kohala resident if you sell in the future outside the family. Read more about it HERE.

  • promote the rehabilitation and maintenance of North Kohala commercial structures in order to provide economic opportunities for residents

  • make land and facilities available for projects and activities that improve the quality of life in North Kohala.

  • protect the natural environment and North Kohalaʻs historic, cultural, and rural character

  • promote the ecologically sound use of land, water, and ocean resources
